Obama Wins - Nov. 4, 2008
The air was filled with excitement as celebration began outsite the White House for President elect Barack Obama. After a day of long voting lines and anticipation, it was finally realized that Change had indeed come. People from all ages, nationalities and reglious backgrounds came together and filled Pennsylvania Ave in recognition of this monumental, historic event.

Review:
"Let Your Motto Be Resistance: African American Portraits"
Oct.19 - March 2, 2008
National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution

A selected photographic "time tunnel" of the African American founding fathers (and mothers) by which current liberties and cultural rhythms were built. The collection captures the "mover's" like Rosa Parks, Dr. King, W.E.B Dubois and "shaker's" such as Sammy Davis, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Richard Prior spirit and alines their contributions to society in this unique collection. Historically rewarding, dont miss it.

Review: "RECOGNIZE! Hip Hop and Contemporary Portraiture"
February 8 - October 26, 2008 National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution

The cultural evolution and influence of art is clearly evident in the exhibit "Recognize", a visual biography of Hip Hop. Most impressive in this collection, of contemporary mixed media and graffiti art is the technical mastery of artist Kehinde Wiley and his oversized portraits of LLCool J, Ice-T, Big Daddy Kane and Grand Master Flash & the Furious Five. The precision, size and realism of his work are overwhelming and make him a current day master to witness up close and personal.

Ballet Flamenco - Eva Yerbabuena
8th Annual Flamenco Festival, DC Feb 15,2008

From the very beginning the passion and energy overwhelm as you are exposed to historic Spanish Flamenco Dancing. The impressive physical endurance, unbelievable synchronized choreography, and acoustic music quality make for a very rewarding evening. The rousing ovations after each segment validate the mastery of these performers and their ability to move your very soul. Pure joy for the senses. A must see.
